Mayobridge GAA challenge 10th Nov 2007

Well done to all the boys who participated in the challenge against Mayobridge GAA on Saturday and to those boys who also played against Fingallians and did so well. Lots of photos from the day here

Great days...

Whilst we don't normally worry about results, the form of the boys over the last 3 Saturdays has been a true reflection of the boys hard work and team spirit.

The series of wins started with the Gaelic football blitz with a strong performance all round against Na Fianna. The following week the progress in hurling was to be seen with a big win over Kilmacud Crokes and then on Saturday the 22nd of September we beat Na Fianna 106 to 77 showing that the previous win wasn't a fluke!

It just goes to show what hard work can achieve.

Ballyboden St. Endas Hurling Tournament

On Saturday the 1st Sept we played in a hurling blitz with Ballyboden St. Endas, Durlas Og and Naas GAA. 20 boys travelled picked based on their attendance at training and games since January. Well done to all the boys who played yesterday and thanks to St. Paul's GAA club for travelling down from Belfast for some good weather and good sport.

Summer hurling in Danesfort, Kilkenny

Saturday 26th May

We continue to show great progress in hurling having won our last four competitve games with a strong perfomance from the boys on Saturday against Kilmacud Crokes. Great heart and as can be seen from the photo great crack also!

There is no game on Saturday the 2nd June.

Saturday 28th April 2007 Gaelic v Na Fianna

Saturday 21st April Hurling

We played hurling with Cuala GAA on Saturday the 21st in Clonkeen College. Great performances all round with an under strength team and a record score for one of the teams. Well done to all concerned.

Well done to all the boys April 14th & 17th

We played Fingallians GAA last Saturday (the 14th) in gaelic at 11am in St. Vincents and all teams performed very well with great commitment and energy.

We then palyed Na Fianna in hurling on Tuesday (the 17th) at 6:30pm also in St. Vincents. The boys put in a great performance with little seperating the teams on the night and we can take great confidence in our performance against a team that used to win well against us. Thanks for the great turn out!

Here are some photos from the all weather hurling against Clontarf GAA. We played gaelic and hurling challenges this weekend and both were played in competitive and good spirit.

Under 10's Gaelic Go Games Rules 2007

Playing Rules

· Play to commence with a throw up in centre
· After a score, the play recommences with a kickout from the goal keeper
· The child can carry the ball for one hop and one solo
· The ball must be lifted off the ground using the toe.
· ‘45’s’ are awarded. These will be taken from 32m out
· No frees closer than 13m from the goals. (no Penalties)
· Goalkeeper may advance 10m for a kick out.

Scoring System
· 3 points when the ball is played over the crossbar
· 1 point when the ball is played under the crossbar.
· 1 point for Skill: Block down

Time Duration
· 40 minute games
· 20 minutes per half
· 1 game per occasion

Playing the Game
· 9 v 9
· 75m X 40m approx.
· 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 2 mid-fielders, 3 attackers.
· Teams must be streamed according to ability

Equipment
· Well secured portable goal posts.
· U/10- (10’ x 6’ or 3m x 1.8m)
· Jerseys
· Three Quick Touch (Size 2)
Footballs - one placed behind each goal and one in play
